Today’s Gospel leads us onto the road to Jericho. Among the crowd following Jesus there is a poor, blind man, forgotten by everyone. Bartimaeus cannot see with his eyes, yet in his heart he recognizes the presence of the Savior. He cries out. He insists. He does not surrender to the silence imposed by the crowd. And Jesus stops. Even today the Lord walks along the roads of our lives. He passes through hidden wounds, tired hearts, and quiet prayers whispered in faith. This prayer is born from the desire to stand beside Bartimaeus and ask with trust: “Lord, let me see again.”

Lord Jesus,
many times I also walk in darkness.
I become distracted easily.
I lose hope.
But today I want to call upon You with trust.

You who stopped before Bartimaeus,
stop also beside me.
Listen to my fragile voice.
Gather my hidden tears.
Do not let my heart close itself.

Give me new eyes, Lord.
Eyes able to see goodness.
Eyes able to recognize Your presence.
Do not let me remain sitting at the edge of life.

When others discourage me,
teach me to pray with greater strength.
When fear arrives,
remind me that You abandon no one.

And after meeting You, Jesus,
help me follow You on the path of the Gospel,
with a simple, free, and peaceful heart.
Amen.

EXPLANATION

Bartimaeus represents every person searching for light and salvation. In Mark’s Gospel, his faith becomes stronger than the voices trying to silence him. Jesus does not pass by: He stops, listens, and heals. We too are invited to cry out to the Lord with trust, without fear of our weaknesses. True healing begins when we recognize our need for Christ and choose to follow Him with a sincere heart.
