In today’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us that every word of God is precious. Nothing is lost from His loving plan. Even in small acts of faithfulness, a light is kindled that brightens our path and brings hope to the world.
Lord Jesus,
You came to fulfill the Law and the Prophets.
Help me welcome Your Word with a humble heart.
When doing good seems difficult,
remind me that every act of love is precious in Your sight.
Nothing done for You is ever wasted.
May my life be like a lamp kept burning.
Not to draw attention to myself,
but to point the way to the Father.
Guard my thoughts,
my words,
and my daily choices.
Make them faithful to the Gospel.
Grant me the joy of perseverance.
Even in the smallest things.
So that, by following You,
I may walk in truth and peace.
Amen.
EXPLANATION
Jesus does not abolish God’s Law; He brings it to its fullness. In Matthew 5:17-19, He teaches that the Father’s will reaches its perfect fulfillment in Him. Christians are called to live God’s Word not only outwardly but from the heart. Even small acts of faithfulness have great value in the Kingdom of Heaven. Holiness grows through everyday choices guided by the light of the Gospel.
