Lord Jesus,
You walk before us with steady steps.
Even when the road rises.
Even when it seems narrow and difficult.
Give us the courage to follow You without fear.

Free us from the desire to be greater than others.
Remove from our hearts the thirst to appear important.
Teach us the joy of simple things.
The peace of those who serve in silence.

May our hands know how to help.
May our words know how to comfort.
May our days become a small gift for someone.

When weariness comes,
stay close to us, Lord.
Like light in the evening.
Like bread that is shared.
Like a voice that lifts the heart again.

Mary, humble and faithful Mother,
teach us to say “yes” each day.
Even in trials.
Even in hidden sacrifices.
Amen.

EXPLANATION

This prayer is inspired by the journey of Jesus toward Jerusalem narrated in Gospel of Mark. The Lord teaches His disciples that true greatness does not come from power, but from service. Christ Himself presents Himself as a servant, ready to give His life out of love.
