Daily prayer for Monday, July 6, 2026, titled: “The touch that restores life”

Today we contemplate two intertwined miracles: a woman healed in secret and a little girl awakened from death. Both speak of a bold faith that does not surrender to the impossible. The Lord still walks in our lives, ready to be touched by our fragilities.

Lord Jesus, physician of bodies and souls, grant me the courage to seek you in the crowd. Often the weight of my troubles disheartens me. But I know it is enough to brush the hem of your cloak to find lost peace.

Look at the hidden wounds I carry in my heart. Speak words of consolation for me as well. Remind me that no night is final for those who trust in you.

When everything seems over, you invite us to hope. Take my hand as you did with the little girl. Raise me from my daily falls.

Teach me to have the boldness of one who hopes against all odds. Free me from the fear that paralyzes the spirit. Make me an instrument of your tenderness for those who suffer.

Awaken in me the desire for eternity. Make my life a reflection of your light. Amen.

EXPLANATION

The Gospel unites two stories of profound despair transformed by the encounter with Christ. The synagogue official and the hemorrhaging woman share an unshakable trust in Jesus. The woman dares not speak, but performs a gesture of silent, powerful faith: she touches the cloak. Jesus is not bothered; rather, He praises her faith. In the official’s house, facing the tragedy of death, Jesus dismisses the clamor of despair and, with profound tenderness, takes the girl’s hand, awakening her. This passage teaches us that for God no situation is beyond repair and that salvation comes through a personal, trusting contact with Him.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

1. Start the day by offering to God the three worries that steal your peace.
2. Try not to complain about hardships today, turning every effort into an offering.
3. Engage in a small gesture of hidden charity without waiting for gratitude.
4. Stop for five minutes in silence to repeat the Name of Jesus with every breath.
5. Apologize promptly if you realize you have responded harshly to someone.

1. In which areas of my life do I act like the “wise and learned”, assuming I can do it on my own?
2. What prevents me from truly handing over the burdens that oppress me to Christ?
3. How can I translate the meekness of Jesus into concrete gestures at home or at work?

5. When was the last time I stopped to rest spiritually before the Lord?
