The light of the wheat and the hope of the eternal harvest
In the silence of the house, Jesus reveals to his disciples the truth about the world and our hearts. God always sows grace, while the enemy tries to obscure it. Let us not fear the weeds around us. The Father guards His wheat and prepares an unshakable eternity of light for us.
Lord Jesus, Divine Sower,
open our eyes to the reality of the Kingdom.
Teach our minds to seek the Truth
and to understand the mysteries of your Word.
Guard goodness within our hearts.
Do not allow the thorns of the evil one
to choke the grace you have planted in us.
Grant us patience in the face of worldly evil.
Strengthen our faith during life’s trials.
Help us not to judge our brothers and sisters prematurely,
but to entrust all things to your righteous judgment.
May we remain faithful to your love.
O Father, purify your Church from every scandal.
Uproot iniquity and duplicity from our actions.
Wash away our sins with your mercy
and make us clear witnesses of your peace.
Master of the harvest, grant us hope.
Allow us to reach the day of your embrace
and shine like the sun in your Kingdom.
Amen.
In Matthew chapter 13, Jesus privately explains the parable of the weeds to his disciples. The Son of Man sows the “children of the Kingdom,” but the devil introduces the obstacle of iniquity. The Magisterium teaches us that human history is a battlefield between Grace and sin. God temporarily tolerates the presence of evil to give us time for conversion, but the end of time will restore divine justice. The righteous, purified and redeemed by the cross of Christ, will share in the eternal glory of the Father.
