In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells the parable of the wicked tenants. It is a call to recognize that everything comes from God and to return to Him the fruits of our lives. Let us open our hearts to His Word and ask for the grace to welcome the Son sent by the Father.
Lord Jesus,
You are the beloved Son of the Father,
sent into the world to seek us.
Give me an open heart,
able to recognize Your presence.
When I think I am the owner of my life,
remind me that everything is a gift:
my faith,
my talents,
and the days You grant me.
Help me never to reject Your voice.
Free me from pride that blinds
and from indifference that hardens the heart.
Make me like a vineyard
cared for by Your love.
May fruits of kindness,
justice,
and mercy
grow within me.
And when Your will seems difficult,
grant me the trust of the saints,
so that I may follow You with joy
and place my whole life in Your hands.
Amen.
The parable of the tenants reveals both God’s faithfulness and humanity’s resistance. The owner continues to send servants and finally sends his beloved son. Jesus shows the tireless love of the Father, who never stops seeking His children. This prayer invites us to remember that our lives belong to God and that we are called to bear fruits of faith, charity, and conversion by welcoming Christ as Lord and Savior.
