In today’s Gospel (Mc 12,28b-34), Jesus shows us the path that gives meaning to our whole life: to love God and to love our neighbor. Not a love made only of words, but a love born in the heart and expressed through concrete actions. Let us entrust to the Lord our desire to learn each day how to love as He loves us.
Lord Jesus,
You know the path that leads to true joy.
Teach me to seek You with a sincere heart.
May nothing come before Your love.
Give me a heart that is attentive.
Able to listen.
Able to welcome.
Able to see the good I can do each day.
When I meet those who suffer,
make me close to them like a brother.
When I meet those who are lonely,
make me a comforting presence.
When I meet those who make mistakes,
make me an instrument of Your mercy.
Free me from the selfishness that closes the heart.
Untie whatever makes me cold and indifferent.
Help me grow in the joy of serving without expecting rewards.
Good Father,
may my whole life become an answer of love to You.
And may every word, every choice, and every action
speak of Your presence in the world.
Amen.
Jesus summarizes the whole Law in two inseparable commandments: to love God with all our being and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Love for God is never something abstract; it becomes visible in our daily relationships. Every act of kindness, forgiveness, and service becomes a concrete way of living the Gospel. Those who walk this path draw closer to the Kingdom of God because they allow the Lord’s love to transform their hearts.
