Prayer of the Day for Sanday, May 31, 2026: “In the Heart of the Father”

God does not look at the world with harshness.
He looks at it with love.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us that the Father gives His Son to save,
not to condemn.
Even when we feel weak, a path of light remains open before us.

Good Father,
when my heart closes in fear,
remind me that You continue to love me.
Even in silence.
Even in my weakness.

Jesus, Son given for us,
teach me to trust in Your word.
May I never live far from Your light.
Free me from all that separates me from You.

Holy Spirit,
enter the hidden wounds of my life.
Bring peace where there is restlessness.
Bring truth where there is confusion.

Lord,
help me look at others with mercy.
May no one feel judged beside me.
Make me an instrument of Your goodness.

And when the journey becomes difficult,
give me a simple heart.
A heart still able to believe.
A heart that rests in the Father.
Amen.

EXPLANATION

This prayer is inspired by John 3:16-18, where Jesus reveals the merciful face of the Father. God does not send His Son to condemn the world, but to save it. Faith becomes an act of trust in God’s love, even in moments of weakness. Praying these words helps renew confidence, peace, and the desire to live in the light of the Lord.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

  1. Spend a few minutes in silence before God.
  2. Slowly read the Gospel of John 3:16-18.
  3. Avoid harsh judgment toward someone today.
  4. Repeat during the day: “Lord, I trust in Your love.”
  5. Offer a word of hope to someone discouraged.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION

  1. Do I truly believe that God loves me?
  2. When do I move away from the light of Christ?
  3. Am I able to look at others with mercy?
  4. What fear am I still carrying in my heart?
  5. What can I entrust to the Lord today?
