In His dialogue with the Sadducees, Jesus opens a window onto eternity. He reminds us that God is not the God of the dead but of the living. When everything seems to end, His love continues. Today we entrust our lives to Him, certain that nothing is lost in His hands.
Lord Jesus,
when my eyes focus only on things that pass away,
teach me to seek what lasts forever.
You are the God of life.
Fill my days with the hope that comes from the Gospel.
Help me not to live as one without direction.
When fear of death knocks at my heart,
remind me that the Father watches over each of His children.
No tear is forgotten before You.
Grant me a faith that is simple and strong.
Help me recognize Your presence in joys and trials.
May every encounter become an opportunity for love.
And when my earthly journey comes to an end,
welcome me into Your peace.
There, where life never fades
and joy has no end.
Amen.
In today’s Gospel, the Sadducees test Jesus with a question about the resurrection. The Lord answers by revealing that eternal life is not merely an extension of earthly life, but a new reality lived in perfect communion with God. His message is clear: God is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God of the living. This truth nourishes Christian hope and invites us to live with confidence, knowing that death does not have the final word.
