Prayer of the day for Thursday, July 9, 2026 entitled: “Called by name into the workshop of the Kingdom”

Dear brothers and sisters, today’s Gospel shows us the trusting gaze of Jesus. He does not look for superheroes, but calls ordinary men with their limitations. He pronounces our name and entrusts us with his own mission of love. Let us allow ourselves to be touched by this invitation.

Source of all consolation, your gaze sought us out among the crowd. You pronounced our name with the tenderness of a Father. Thank you because you do not look at our miseries, but at the beauty of the plan you have kept in us from all eternity.

Christ Jesus, Good Shepherd, you grant us your very authority. You send us to bind up wounded hearts and drive away the shadows of despair. Clothe us with your compassion, so that our hands may become an extension of your love.

Holy Spirit, breath of life, deliver us from the temptation to walk alone. Teach us the value of communion within the Church. Grant that we may support each other in the hardships of the journey, witnessing that unity is possible.

Holy Father, awaken in us the courage of the first proclamation. May our daily lives become the soil in which to sow the hope of the Gospel. Give us pure lips to shout to the world that your Kingdom is near.

5. Perform a small act of hidden, silent charity for a sick or elderly neighbor.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION

1. When I look at the people around me, does detached judgment prevail, or the compassion of Jesus?
2. Is my mouth open to proclaim the wonders of God, or is it mute due to indifference?
3. Do I feel like an active part of the Lord’s “harvest,” offering my life for the Gospel?
4. Do I pray regularly and with a sincere heart for seminarians and consecrated souls?
5. In my daily struggles, do I trust in Christ as my true Shepherd, or do I seek false refuges?
