Prayer of the Day Friday, June 5, 2026: “When the Lord Sits Beside the Father”

In today’s Gospel, Jesus opens a door to His mystery. He is not only the Son of David. He is the Lord who sits at the Father’s right hand. With simple hearts, let us pause before Him. Let His presence enlighten our path and strengthen our faith.

Lord Jesus,
You are the gentle and humble King.
You do not seek earthly thrones.
Your kingdom is born from love
and reaches every heart that welcomes You.

When my thoughts become confused,
lift my gaze toward Heaven.
Help me recognize in You
the Lord of my life.

You sit beside the Father
and continue to watch over Your people.
In times of struggle,
remind me that I am not alone.

Strengthen my faith.
Drive away fear.
May trust grow within me,
a trust born from Your Word.

And when the road becomes narrow,
guide me with Your light.
May I follow You each day
with joy, faithfulness, and peace.

Amen.

EXPLANATION

In the Gospel (Mark 12:35-37), Jesus invites us to look beyond human expectations. The Messiah is not only a descendant of David but the Son of God who shares the Father’s glory. This revelation helps us understand who Jesus truly is: the risen Lord who guides the Church and accompanies every believer. This prayer is rooted in that certainty: Christ is close to us and reigns with love over our lives.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

  1. Spend a few moments contemplating Jesus present in your life.
  2. Repeat during the day: “Jesus, I trust in You.”
  3. Entrust a concrete worry to the Lord.
  4. Read today’s Gospel slowly and prayerfully.
  5. Choose an act of trust instead of giving in to fear.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION

  1. Who is Jesus truly for me?
  2. Do I trust His guidance in daily decisions?
  3. What fear do I need to surrender to the Lord?
  4. When do I recognize His presence most clearly?
  5. How can I witness my faith today?
