Daily Prayer of Wednesday, July 15, 2026: “The joy of the little ones in the Father’s heart”

Today, Jesus addresses those who have no pretenses of greatness or intellectual pride. In His hymn of jubilation, He thanks the Father for revealing the mysteries of the Kingdom to those who know how to make themselves small. Becoming simple and trusting is the only way to enter into the intimacy of the Son and be embraced by the immense love of God.

Father of heaven and earth,
we bless You because You love to reveal Yourself to those who walk in humility,
far from the illusions of self-sufficiency and human pride.

Lord Jesus, meek and humble,
give us the heart of a child to welcome Your Word,
free of defenses and eager to be shaped by Your Grace.

Spirit of Truth,
free us from the desire to understand everything with reason alone
and open us to the mystery of total trust in Your divine plan.

Guard our steps from all vain earthly wisdom,
so that we may recognize Your discreet presence
within the folds and challenges of our daily life.

You who alone know the Father and reveal Him to the little ones,
lead us into the silence of inner listening
to dwell forever in the sweetness of Your communion.

In today’s Gospel (Mt 11:25-27), Jesus praises the Father for a preferential choice: the secrets of the Kingdom are not for the wise and learned of the world, but for the little ones (nhépios, the infants, the speechless). 1. Cultivate humility: Today, avoid wanting to have the last word or showing off your skills in a discussion.
2. Pray with simplicity: Spend three minutes in silence, simply repeating: “Jesus, I trust in You,” with the heart of a child.
3. Welcome a little one: Perform a gesture of attention or free listening toward a child or a weak, invisible person.
4. Give thanks for the gift of faith: Before starting your day, thank God for the free gift of faith received without any merit.
5. Relinquish control: Hand over to the Lord a complex situation that you are trying to solve using only your rational strength.
